Preface

Abstract

The 9th Conference of Emerging Energy and Process Technology (CONCEPT2021) took place in Johor Baharu, Malaysia, in the period of November 24–25, 2021, at the Institute of Future Energy of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, with the aims to bring together post-graduate students, researchers, academicians, relevant industrial players and government and private agencies to share their latest research interests and confer on the state-of-the-art and future development in the areas of sustainable energy and process technology. Because of the Coronavirus pandemic, all sessions of the conference have been organized online by using Webex platform. CONCEPT 2021 is an Energy and Chemical Process-based conference focus on four fields: Applied Sciences, Sustainable Energy, Process System, and Safety. Topics of the conference covers a comprehensive spectrum of issues from: 1. Applied Sciences: Frontier Materials, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Mathematics. 2. Sustainable Energy: Green Chemistry, Renewable Energy, Alternative Energy, Biomass and Biofuel, Hydrogen Energy, Electrochemical Energy, Energy Storage, CO2 capture and utilization, Smart Agriculture. 3. Process System: Power System, Process System Engineering, Artificial Intelligent (AI), Simulation & Modelling. 4. Safety: Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety and Health, Process Safety & Loss Prevention, Ergonomic & Human Factors, Risk Assessment, Risk Management, Safety & Security Radiation. The conference model was divided into three sessions: Plenary speeches, keynote speeches and oral presentations. In the first and second part, the invited Professors were given about 20 minutes to deliver their speech followed by 10 minutes online Q&A discussion. For the third part, the researchers were given 10 minutes to present their research followed by 10 minutes online Q&A discussion.
