Abstract

Preface ICGAB 2019 ICGAB 2019, the 3rd International Conference on Green Agro-Industry and Bioeconomy was held on 26th August 2019 at Ijen Suites & Resort, Malang- Indonesia. ICGAB 2019 was organised by Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Universitas Brawijaya (FAT-UB). The event was in collaboration with PERMI (Indonesian Society for Microbiology), KBI (Indonesian Biotechnology Consortium), PATPI (Indonesian Association of Food Technologist), PERTETA (Indonesian Society of Agricultural Engineering), IATPI (Indonesian Society of Sanitary and Environmental Engineering), and APTA (Indonesian Society of Agricultural Technologist).This year’s conference is aimed to communicate and disseminate research experiences, technology innovation, research and technology advances, as well as case studies. This event provides a scientific platform enabling both local and international academia, researchers, policymakers, industry leaders, professionals, and other stakeholders to build networks, share ideas, and create research collaboration. The conference successfully attracted 300 participants from the USA, Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam, South Korea, Libya and Indonesia. In total, seven plenary talks and about 157 contributed parallel talks were given. The scientific program included the following topics:1. Food safety and security2. Agricultural engineering3. Animal welfare and technology13. Bioeconomy and biobusinessThe contents of the talks can be found in the present contributions, arranged according to the topics. All the manuscripts were double-blind peer-reviewed arranged by the editorial committee to meet the scientific standards expected of publication in IOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science.We would like to extend our acknowledgment to the reviewers who provided their valuable comments and suggestions.
