Abstract

Seminar on Science & Technology (S&T) is one of the conferences conducted by the Faculty of Science and Natural Resources, Universiti Malaysia Sabah, Malaysia. The 14th Seminar on Science & Technology (S&T 2021) was held on the 8th and 9th of September 2021. The seminar themed “Integrated R&D Approach Towards Sustainable Development” aim to provide a platform for researchers to interact, network, exchange ideas, and highlight research activities on various discipline in science and technology. Areas of research that are highlighted in this seminar are mathematics and statistics, environmental science, natural resource and biodiversity, energy engineering and technology, sustainable forestry and agriscience, health and medical sciences, and finally ICT and technology. Due to growing concerns about COVID-19, S&T 2021 canceled its physical conference this year instead of shifting to a virtual conference. The S&T participants came from various universities in Malaysia; therefore, it became an opportunity for the participant to share knowledge, exchange ideas, and have the chance to collaborate. The S&T 2021 brings together more than 70 national researchers with a great sharing of the seminar’s themes. On top of that, we were greatly honored to have in this seminar two keynote speakers. Prof. Dr. Venty Suryanti from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Sebelas Maret University Surakarta Indonesia presented a study based on her expertise entitled ‘Biosurfactants Production based on Vegetable Oils and their Application in Environmental Remediation’ and Dr. Sofian Ibrahim from Malaysia Nuclear Agency presented his point of view titled; Environment Sustainability via Nuclear Technology’. Their insightful speeches on advances in science and technology heated up the sharing session. Finally, we are happy to receive a high number of potential quality full papers to be published in the present proceeding after thorough review processes to meet the publication requirements. Infinite thanks to all the researchers, and not to be missed the committee members and commenters who contributed in and beyond the seminar.List of Committee Member is available in this Pdf.
