Preface

Abstract

ICEFC2019 is the 2nd International Conference on Environment and Forest Conservation under collaboration of IPB University-Indonesia, Mindanao State University (MSU)-Philippines, Kastamonu University (KU)-Turkey, and SEAMEO BIOTROP held on October 1st-3rd, 2019 in Bogor, West Java, Indonesia. The 1st conference was held on November 18th-21st, 2018 in Dakak Beach Resort, Dapitan City, Philippines with MSU as the host.IPB University has a great pleasure to be the host for the 2nd ICEFC. On behalf of the Organizing Committee, I am very happy to report to all of you that we received 148 abstracts distributed in five tracks, namely: Forest Conservation and Management (67), Environmental Management and Policies (19), Forests and Environmental Innovative Technology (32), Climate Change and Disaster Risk Mitigation (22), and Other Topics (8). The conference is also attended by delegates from 8 countries, Brunei Darussalam (3), Malaysia (8), Philippines (19), Turkey (6), UK (4), USA (1), Vietnam (1) and of course from various university in Indonesia. The ICEFC2019 is held back to back with MAPFIRE2019, a summer course on Data Mining on Air Pollution Modelling as Impacts of Forest Fires, which is jointly organized by Department of Computer Science, Faculty of Mathematic and Natural Science and Faculty of Forestry IPB University. To encourage and motivate our future generation, we also organize student session in which students can express their ideas to save our global environment.I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Rector of IPB University, Dean Faculty of Forestry IPB and all the staffs, to Mindanao State University and Kastamonu University, and SEAMEO-BIOTROP as co-hosts of the ICEFC2019. My high appreciation also goes to the keynote speakers, Director General of Social Forestry and Environmental Partnership, Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Dr. Bambang Supriyanto and Prof. Dominick Spracklen from Leeds University UK, and to all invited speakers.
