Preface

Abstract

This proceeding includes original and peer-reviewed research papers from 5th International Symposium on Resource Exploration and Environmental Science (REES 2021). Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, REES 2021 was held ONLINE via Tencent Meeting/VooV Meeting on April 24-25, 2021. REES 2021 is organized by Wuhan University of Technology, co-organized by Wuhan University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Northeast Petroleum University, Research Center of Engineering and Science, sponsored by China Nonferrous Metals Group, Camel Battery Co., Ltd., Daye Nonferrous Metals, Chishun Chemical Co., Ltd.The REES conference is an annual conference, any delay will mean the interruption of academic exchanges. Therefore, the conference organizing committee requested that the conference be held as scheduled. The members of the conference organizing committee arranged the details of the conference at the Thai Jin Jiang International Hotel in Ordos.Due to the time difference, the number of overseas participants in this REES conference had decreased compared with previous conferences. The peak number of online participants in this conference was 330. With the collaboration of the members of the organizing committee, the software maintainers, and the conference participants, this 5th REES was successfully held, and the conference organizing committee gained valuable experience in holding online meeting. More importantly, the overall technical quality of the conference was reduced by the way of virtual conference. And many scholars of geology and geography had joined our conference enthusiastically. REES conference series had gained respect in the scientific community.The organizing committees are very grateful indeed to the presence of Prof. S. Jiang who from China University of Geosciences, Prof. Y. Xiong from Wuhan University, and Prof. J. Xu from Northeast Petroleum University. We also wish to thank the plenary and invited speakers: Prof. Liu from East China University of Technology, Dr. Xu from Chongqing University, Dr. Song from Beijing Institute of Astronautical Systems Engineering, Dr. Ma from Peking University, etc. Hopefully, the next REES conference could exchange new ideas and application experiences face to face.List of Committees are available in this Pdf.
