Abstract

Professor Danny Sutanto On behalf of the organising committee and the Committee Chairs, it is my pleasure to extend a warm welcome to all delegates to participate in the 2nd International Conference on Environment, Resources and Energy Engineering (EREE 2020). The conference is initiated by the Science and Engineering Institute (SCIEI) and supported by the Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. The primary aim of the conference is for academic communications, exchange of ideas and inspirations between specialists and scholars in the fields of Environment, Resources and Energy Engineering, that cover hot issues such as solar energy, natural environment and renewable resources. The other key aim of EREE Conference is to provide postgraduate students with the opportunity to present their research findings in front of experts from both academia and industry for scholarly feedback. It also provides university academics and Industry with the opportunity to interact with the technical community, to share experiences and gain the benefit from the latest developments in technology presented at the conference. We sincerely hope that EREE 2020 Conference provides a platform for all delegates to have rich, useful, and effective deliberations. We were very pleased with the response received from our call for papers. The conference secretariat received many papers from all over the world. Papers were reviewed by independent reviewers from around the world. All papers in the conference have been fully refereed and will be made available in a volume of IOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science, which is indexed by Ei Compendex and Scopus. The 2020 EREE Conference features a strong technical program with technical sessions that cover topics of current interest in the area of Environment, Resources and Energy. The program also includes three international keynote addresses by distinguished experts from Singapore, Malaysia and Australia. This year the EREE Conference was to be held in Singapore, which is prominent as one of the world’s most prosperous economies for its size. However, as the coronavirus(COVID-19) spreads worldwide and taking into account the various circumstances of the participants, this year the conference will be held in full remote / online conference in a virtual environment where the attendees can present the papers and can participate in all the sessions that will be organized in a fully immersive experience. All keynote, parallel oral sessions, discussions and other activities will be offered as online streaming. Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all members of the organising committee, the technical program committee, keynote speakers, reviewers, technical support staff and the staff of the Science and Engineering Institute, particularly Ms Carina Y. J. Liu, for their dedication and contribution to the conference; without their tireless work, the conference would not be possible.
