Abstract
The 6th International Conference on Technology and Vocational Teachers (ICTVT) 2020 F Rahmawati1, D Hariyanto1, M L Hakim1, A Malik1, and H Hasbi1 1Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, IndonesiaE-mail: fitri_rahmawati@uny.ac.id The 6th ICTVT 2020 was organized by the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta. It was successfully held on October 5th, 2020 through an online platform due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The main purpose of this conference is to bring a unified communication platform for professional practice in engineering fields, researchers, vocational teachers, academia, and government.The conference’s theme is “TECHNOLOGY ENHANCEMENT TO SUPPORT VOCATIONAL COMPETENCE AND FREEDOM TO LEARN”. The program of Freedom to Learn launched by the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia to encourage an intelligent and capable Indonesian people to act independently without being ordered. Learning has resulted from intrinsic motivation led by the need to learn not because of requirements to pass the National Examination. The concept of high reasoning is the foundation of Superior Human Resources. The innovation and development of this technology must be able to be followed even stimulated by the development of education, especially vocational education. One important issue that deserves to be considered deeply is the freedom to learn in research and technology development as a support for the creative economy in the industrial era 4.0.The 2020 ICTVT was held in the form of a virtual conference using Zoom web conferencing platform. The presentations for parallel sessions were assembled in sessions according to a theme and they were assigned a virtual room. A Chair was assigned to handle each session. The participants should prepare their presentation on PowerPoint and presented their papers in 25 minutes maximum including question and answer session. During the conference, there was no significant difficulties found by both of organiser and participant.There were 147 papers submitted to the 6th ICTVT 2020 and 100 papers sent for review. After a thorough reviewing process, there were 79 papers presented and submitted to IOP. There were participants from Indonesia, China, Taiwan, and Germany. We would like to express our utmost gratitude to the keynote speakers, presenters, authors, and co-authors for contributing excellent papers.Last but not least, We also grateful to all the technical program committee members involved in evaluating submitted papers, considering the merit through detailed reviews, and selecting papers of the highest quality for oral presentation. We would like to thank all the organizing committee members and Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, whose generous support contributed to the success of the 6th ICTVT 2020.
