Abstract

Two neonates with congenital duodenal obstruction caused by a preduodenal portal vein (PVP) combined with situs inversus abdominalis are presented. In one case the diagnosis was suspected antenatally on ultrasound. In both cases a side-to-side duodenojejunostomy was performed as a procedure of choice. The potential hazards of PVP are pointed out.
