Abstract

This correspondence treats the predistortion of active networks to compensate for the finite gain-bandwidth of the operational amplifiers (op amp's). The approach is general in that the gain-bandwidth is not restricted to large values and in that there is no restriction to a particular topology. The method consists of the solution of a set of simultaneous nonlinear equations for the pole positions of a network with ideal op amp's which will shift to the desired pole locations when the ideal op amp's are replaced with units having finite gain-bandwidth. Examples are given for both single amplifier and multiple amplifier topologies, and experimental results are presented.
