Abstract

Objective To investigate the predictive value of the ambulatory blood pressue monitoring parameters and cardiovascular risk factor on carotid artery artherosclerosis in essential hypertension patients. Methods All selected patients were inquired for case history and given physical examination, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, carotid ultrasound examination and blood biochemistry detection. Results The ratio of male patients, smoking, mean age, duration of hypertension, smokers proportion, the levels of UA,total cholesterol and low density lipoprotein cholesterol in carotid artery artherosclerosis group were higher than those in control group; and the level of high density lipoprotein cholesterol in carotid artery artherosclerosis group was lower than that in control group, there were significant differences between the two groups (P < 0.05).The levels of the 24 h SBP,dSBP,nSBP,24 h PP,dPP,nPP and the ratio of non-dipper blood pressure in CAS group were higher than those in control group, there were significant differences (P < 0.05).Conclusions It has more significant on the impact of carotid artery artherosclerotic lesion formation in that of male, elder, the course of hypertension,smoking,UA,dyslipidemia,non-dipper blood pressure, systolic blood pressure, pulse pressure and the gather of risk factor of cardiovascular.
