Abstract
Objective: Cytoreductive surgery is the cornerstone of advanced ovarian cancer (OVCA) treatment. Detractors of initial maximal surgical effort argue that the initial extent of disease correlates with aggressive tumor biology, which will dictate survival, not the surgical effort. We aim to investigate the role of biology in achieving optimal cytoreduction in serous OVCA using microarray gene expression analysis.
