Abstract

In the context of a MWK research project (Ministry of Science and Culture of Lower Saxony in Germany) a battery electric vehicle with a fuel cell as range extender (RE) was developed at Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences. In order to enable energy-optimized operation as well as maximum driving safety an electronic vehicle management (eVM) was laid out in a model-based manner. One of the core functions of the eVM is the predictive electric energy management (pEEM). The pEEM distributes the available electric power to the electric loads. Another important function is an energy-optimized power prediction for the RE which will be presented as a focus in this present paper. Furthermore underlain functions like a battery management system are shown.
