Abstract
Due to the rapid innovation speed in the development of microprocessors and communication technology, it becomes necessary to generate software in a hardware-independent way. The consequence of this requirement is the introduction of links between application software and hardware, in an open architecture oriented structure. This paper presents an open architecture structure of motor drives with application to an axis induction machine control, showing the connection between the motor (including load, PWM inverter, current sensors, incremental encoders) and software developments for the end users (automatic design of the tuning parameters, design of the controller), through a DSP based real time part implementation.
