Abstract

AC-drives are controlled by field or decoupling control. These solutions enable the control of the flux and the torque independently. For good dynamic response a good dynamic behaviour of these current control loops is necessary. Good dynamic response needs a high sampling rate and a high switching frequency of the inverter. But high switching frequency results in high losses in the inverter. In this paper a new solution for the current control is published which on the one hand gives the lowest switching frequency in the stationary state and very fast dynamic response on the other hand. Furthermore this new control strategy is shown for the machine side inverter and for the mains-side inverter. Thus cos y=1, λ≈1, and rapid control of the power flow is possible on the mains-side and furthermore good stationary and dynamic response on the machine side.
