Abstract
The present study is aimed to study flow behaviors and heat transfer characteristics for a lid-driven air flow within an arc-shape cavity. Stream function-vorticity formulation representing the laws of conservation in mass, momentum, and energy in terms of a curvilinear coordinate is solved numerically. Attention has been focused on the effects of the inertial and buoyant forces exerted on the fluid. Results for various Renolds numbers (Re), Grashof numbers (Gr), and inclination angles (φ) are presented. The ranges of these parameters considered in this study are 100 ≤Re≤ 2000, 0≤Gr≤10 8, and 0≤ φ ≤ 2 π.
