Abstract

We use QCD sum rules, together with two numerical algorithms, for predicting masses of first excited states and partial decay widths of ground states in various channels of charmonium. The method, which has already been applied to the pseudoscalar channel, is now extended to the 1 P 1 channel. We predict the mass of the first excited state, m h c ′ ⋍ 4.355 GeV ; moreover we fix bounds on the partial decay width of the h c -resonance into light hadrons.
