Abstract

It is assumed that the charge-exchange process ${\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}+p\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\eta}}^{0}+n$ is dominated by the $R$ Regge pole. A prediction for the cross section is then made, by taking Regge-pole parameters from a previous analysis of $\ensuremath{\pi}N$ and $\mathrm{KN}$ scattering, and by invoking ${\mathrm{SU}}_{3}$ symmetry.
