Abstract

A method is presented to predict vapor-liquid equilibrium (VLE) from dilute systems data using the SRK equation of state (SRK-EOS). Values of the interaction parameters (k ij) for the SRK-EOS obtained from infinite dilution activity coefficients (γ ∞), infinite dilution relative volatility (α ∞) and Henry constants (H) were used to generate VLE data in the whole concentration region with good results. Infinite dilution activity coefficients were obtained directly from the literature or were generated using solubility parameters, Regular Solution theory or the UNIFAC model.
