Abstract

Two correlations between the heat of solution of oxygen in liquid metals and the standard heats of formation of the respective oxides, and between the heat of solution and the excess entropy of solution are proposed in the form ▪ ▪ The above equations enable prediction of the activity coefficient of oxygen in liquid transition metals for systems in which experimental data is not available.
