Abstract

A method based on scaling theory and dimensionality analysis for determination of the wear resistance of yarn made of chemical fibres as a function of the initial parameters of the fibres and filaments was developed. Empirical dependences of the wear resistance of polyester, polyacrylonitrile, and viscose yarn on the linear density, bulk density of the fibres and filaments, staple length of the fibres, and yarn twist were obtained.
