Abstract

In this article, we assume that the shearing hysteresis of woven fabrics comes only from the friction resistance of warp and weft yarns at the interlacing points. The theoretical equation expressing fabric shearing hysteresis with fabric structure and the shearing hysteresis of every interlacing point was established. A total of 49 kinds of worsted fabrics were used to explore the relation between the shearing hysteresis of every interlacing point and the structure parameters, and then the optimal experimental equations were established using statistical method. By combining the theoretical equation and experimental equations, a set of predicted equations for fabric shearing hysteresis were derived. The validation with eight kinds of worsted fabrics shows the average error about 10% and maximum error below 20%.
