Abstract
This paper presents a comparison of the predicted and measured acoustic system effects induced by a box with a lateral opening at the inlet of an axial flow fan. The two main phenomena involved in the acoustic installation effects in fan systems, namely the acoustic loading and the turbulent inflow effects, are dealt with in the prediction, which is based on existing analytical models. The input data of the models are obtained by measurements. The objective of this study, carried out on an academic configuration, is to develop and validate a prediction approach that could be implemented in real cases.
