Abstract

Two interaction energy parameters, D and ϕ, characterizing the interaction between solute and stationary phase in gas-liquid chromatography have been suggested. In the calculation of these parameters, molecular values like atomic group refractions, dipole moments and Van der Waals radii have been used. Moreover, it has been attempted to consider mutual orientations of the interacting molecules.
