Abstract

Comparative studies of two methods of processing flax straw, which are implemented on a laboratory scutching and breaking machine SMT-500 and an industrial small-sized scutching unit ALS-1, are presented. The characteristics of scutched flax were analyzed depending on the method of processing flax straw and a coefficient was obtained to predict its yield. Recommendations are given for predicting the number of flax straw, the yield and the number of long fiber in the ALS-1 unit.
