Abstract

The effect of temperature on the life of plastic gears cannot neglected. In this paper, a new fatigue life model for plastic gears is proposed by taking into account the changes in material performance indexes resulting from temperature variations. The study begins by investigating the stress-strain curves of plastic gears at different temperatures. Subsequently, a multi-axial fatigue model considering the influence of temperature is established, and a calculation method for fatigue life based on continuous damage mechanics (CDM) is proposed. The research results have been experimentally verified, demonstrating high accuracy and credibility.
