Abstract

A method of extrapolating the temperature of permafrost, which is measured in holes located in the bed of a structure, is proposed. Moreover, the class of support extrapolation functions is calculated by reducing the three-dimensional problem of heat conduction to a set of one-dimensional problems (for a number of computational points). Completely satisfactory correspondence is demonstrated between computed results and data derived from computer-assisted mathematical modeling. The paper is written on the basis of the results of studies financed by the Russian Fund for Fundamental Research (Project No. 94-05-16195-a).
