Abstract

Abstract In the today’s world of transport usage by passenger and the driver, Noise and vibration of the diesel engine vehicles are an important issue to be addressed by the automotive industries. This issue is not only makes the occupants fatigue but also increases the environmental noise and smoke pollution from the Diesel engine vehicle. As the usage of the diesel fuelled passenger cars are increasing due to its more mileage, better performance efficiency. Among these advantages the drawback with the diesel cars is the high vibration and noise due to its high compression ratio as we know. As a literature review it is observed that the number of cylinders also enhances the vibration and hence in this project the data related to the vibration and noise are measured by using the accelerometer and sensor and further the characteristics such as the amplitude, acceleration and frequency were compared for various loads and locations are done.
