Abstract

Separation of Polar/nonpolar organic species in the chemical industry and waste treatment have been a problem that is continuously increasing. The separation of these organic species apply absorption, extraction and distillation processes that require the equilibrium data for the design, control and performance calculations. Equilibrium data are not always easy to be determined experimentally and in some cases the experimental procedures are tedious and non‐reliable. The aim of this work is to generalize the UNIFAC model to predict the partition coefficient for many organic mixtures. The package increase the user‐friendly feature and the UNIFAC subroutines can be inserted in any differential/stage‐wise simulations that require distribution coefficients at various compositions and temperature in the range of 275 ‐ 425 Degree K.
