Abstract

Analysis of internal cavity vibro-acoustic environments is one of the most critical subjects in the spacecraft development process. Accuracy and reliability of these environment predictions is important for establishing the design specifications for the payloads located within the internal cavities and designing ground tests for proper verification. This paper presents an analysis of a representative spacecraft internal cavity using Statistical Energy Analysis (SEA) and Boundary Element Method (BEM). The analysis predictions are compared to the acoustic test measurements. Observations and recommendations about test correlation and analysis limitations are also presented.
