Abstract

AbstractThe main function or purpose of the Digital Twin concept is to predict the health status or the fault severity of equipment. This article analyzes the related concepts, implementation approaches and strategies. The implementation approach given is: first study and determine which equipment fault is suitable for prediction using the Digital Twin concept; then establish a mathematical-physical model describing the fault or health status, which is a model with undetermined coefficients related to the measurable status characteristics of the equipment; then Digital Twin model is established based on the mathematical-physical model, which can achieve consistency with the equipment status through the adjustment of the undetermined coefficients; the most critical step is to realize the growth of the Digital Twin model, because it is impossible to realize that the Digital Twin model has predictive ability once it is established. The Digital Twin model must have a growth process related to the operation process of the equipment, and the growth process is mainly realized by the adjustment of undetermined coefficients and model modification. Finally use the grown-up Digital Twin model to predict the fault degree based on the development process of health status and the current status of the equipment. It is impossible to achieve more accurate prediction without the Digital Twin model having the growth process and the prediction utilizing the development process of equipment fault.KeywordsDigital twinMathematical-physical model with undetermined coefficientsElectrical equipmentHealth statusPrediction of fault degree
