Abstract

Autonomous cooperative joint operation is the main trend and new style of naval operations in the future for the unmanned surface vehicle (USV) formation. Sensors used for electronic warfare, communication and situational perception have increased rapidly in the USV formation, and the radio frequency integration has become increasingly high, which forcing the electromagnetic environment(EME) among USV to be more complex than that among a single vessel. In this paper, a new prediction method of complex EME for USV formation is introduced. Mathematical models of radar EME comprehensive field intensity, power density and main beam irradiation superposition space have been developed. It can be concluded that the power density of the complex EME for USV formation increases with the radiated power, the gain and the number of unmanned ships, but decreases as the distance between two warships.
