Abstract
After decomposing the population growth in cities and townships, this paper predicts the evolution trend of China's urban population growth rate through 2030 on the basis of China's total population, urban population and township population measurements. Results indicate that after the decomposition of city and township population growth, the respective population growth is estimated to exceed 70% in 2028 following the general growth trend of China's urban population, marking China's entry into the late stage of urbanization.
