Abstract
This article analyzes the effect of steelmaking factors on the frequency of rejection of large rolled sections in ultrasonic tests. Measures are developed to stabilize the quality of these products based on prediction of the formation of defects during the production process. An analysis that was performed revealed shortcomings in the out-of-furnace treatment and casting of steel. The results of the analysis were used as a basis for proposing a new technology that makes it possible to reduce the incidence of production rejection.
