Abstract

An analytical review reveals that, for current batch with an elevated content of petrographically diverse coal and with organic additives, it is very difficult to predict the coke yield and basic coking byproducts from the yield of volatiles. A more promising approach is prediction on the basis of the elementary and petrographic composition of the coal batch.
