Abstract

We examined predictors of participation and adherence to a home environmental intervention with 100 dementia family caregivers. Participation was measured as the number of home visits, adherence as the number of problems addressed, and strategies used. Being older and female predicted participation. Adherence was predicted by older age, lower depression, and having a less dependent person to care for We speculate that depression should be viewed as a moderator of treatment, not an outcome.
