Abstract

Summary Chlorpromazine is shown to extract from aqueous sample solutions into a waximpregnated graphite electrode (WIGE). Chronocoulometry gives a charge—time curve with an intercept that indicates adsorption of chlorpromazine at the interface and a time dependence consistent with chlorpromazine extraction into the WIGE. The extraction serves as a preconcentration step which lowers the detection limit for chlorpromazine when determined by differential pulse voltammetry.
