Abstract

Under multipath fading channels, maximum likelihood detection of multiple-input multiple-output filter-bank multicarrier-quadrature amplitude modulation (MIMO FBMC-QAM) system suffers from the performance degradation due to the residual interference. To solve this problem, we propose a precoding-aided MIMO FBMC-QAM system for the per-tone maximum likelihood detection. By adopting the precoder as the null space of effective channels, the proposed system can eliminate the residual interference. Simulation results show that the proposed system can overcome the error flooring phenomenon without interference cancellation.
