Abstract

The emission spectrum of the CrKα1 line from chromium metal has been investigated utilizing the asymmetrical reflection method of double crystal X-ray spectroscopy. The resolution in the best arrangement was Δλ/λ=9.7×10-6. The half-width of the CrKα1 line was 1.87eV, which is smaller than the value, that have been obtained with high resolution X-ray spectroscopy so far. The asymmetry index of the line was 1.35. This asymmetrical reflection method is recommended in X-ray spectroscopy. The fine structures reported by previous workers could not be recognized.
