Abstract

Using a plane mirror distances up to 200 m can be measured with a modified differential technique giving a better accuracy compared to distances directly determined with the employed electro optical rangefinder. This method is advocated not only for accurate measurements but also for engineering work, where often vertical distances must be evaluated. Using the Tellurometer MA 100 the height of an 18 floor building has been determined with an accuracy of about ± 0.5 mm.
