Abstract
A study has been made of the precipitation of aluminium from homogeneous solution with 8-acetoxyquinoline. The use of 8-acetoxyquinoline results in an aluminium precipitate with superior physical characteristics as compared to that produced in the conventional manner with 8-hydroxyquinoline. A separation of 25-mg quantities of aluminium from 300 mg of magnesium or 1000 mg of calcium can easily be made.
