Abstract

Responses to an interview guide by 100 mentally ill patients suggested that vocational, social, and self factors, respectively, were precipitating factors in the rehospitalization process. The results suggested the respondents' realistic viewpoints regarding the significance of employment, but a nonrealistic viewpoint about the significance of self. A profile emerged indicating those precipitating factors most likely associated with the rehospitalized mental patient.
