Abstract

“Every human life is the same and is worth saving” quotes renowned novelist and screenwriter JK Rowling. The significance of human life is of utmost importance and has to be universally respected. There is an alarmingly increasing rate of loss of human lives due to road accidents and a major source points to the usage of cell phones while driving. According to Indian National Crime Records Bureau, about 14 lives are lost every hour due to road misadventures. With our emergent technologies, it is simply impossible to imagine life without cell phones. Even though technological advancements have introduced us to the hands-free mobile devices, still, speaking on the phone while driving disrupts one’s concentration from the traffic and thus still results in mishappenings. In order to address these situations we have come up with a project which aims to reduce such setbacks. The main aim of the project is of two folds: the first is to avoid picking up calls while driving unless it’s an emergency. The second is to intimate family and emergency services immediately in case such accidents occur while driving. This is achieved through the usage of our control system. Effective safety measures can be provided by our continuously monitoring control system which is placed inside the vehicle. The user’s mobile phone and the vehicle get synchronized as soon as the user gets into driving mode. Different modes of reporting stages are being developed to avoid hazards of operating on phones while driving. The microcontroller and global monitoring system are integrated together for powerful communication. The prototype model is developed to demonstrate the effectiveness of the concept.
