Abstract

Within a formulated philosophical framework a study was conducted of the pre-service programs for educating teachers as provided at the eight Negro colleges of Georgia whose graduates teach. The programs were of Albany State, Clark, Fort Valley State, Georgia State, Morehouse, Morris Brown, Paine, and Spelman colleges. The study was made of the following seven phases of the programs: recruitment, selection, and other personnel services, faculty, curriculum, facilities, placement, and follow-up. Each college' was visited for several days and observations and interviews were conducted with the aid of a check list.
