Abstract

Lung cancer remains the first cause of cancer-related death worldwide and its management obviously suffers from social disparities. Lung cancer care among underprivileged patients can be affected at each step of the disease. First, social precarity is associated with a higher prevalence of risk factors as the use of tobacco and cannabis. Furthermore, the adhesion of underprivileged patients to screening programs being established in France is poor. To finish, therapeutic management could be damaged in this population because of limited access to new digital tools and clinical research. In conclusion, lung cancer management evolution will have to focus on social discrepancies in order to standardize the level of care for every French citizen.1877-1203/© 2022 SPLF.
