Abstract
A 12‐week double‐blind study involving individuals with alcohol use disorder has found that the alpha‐1 adrenergic receptor antagonist prazosin reduced the likelihood of heavy drinking relative to placebo. Prazosin did not reduce the frequency of drinking as measured by the number of drinking days per week.
