Abstract
A case is described in which urinary incotinence developed in a patient on prazosin hydrochloride. Prazosin hydrochloride depressed the urethral pressure profile by selectively blocking the postsynaptic alpha-adrenoceptors in the proximal urethra. Older hypertensive women are particularly susceptible to development of urinary incotinence. Precuation should be exercised in prescribing this new drug in these patients.
