Abstract
BRITISH RESEARCH into Alzheimer's disease has been boosted financially and publicly by the best-selling British fantasy author, Terry Pratchett. The writer has donated $1 million (£500,000) to medical research into the disease after announcing in December that he was suffering from a rare and early onset form of Alzheimer's.
