Abstract
ABSTRACTIn this paper, we reflect upon the work of the Justice, Peace and the Integrity of Creation department in the Diocese of Southwark since its inception in 2016. The article highlights the importance of pragmatic theology, by illustrating the impact that churches can have on their local community, how churches can challenge injustice locally and nationally, and can lead on change for the common good. However, it is important to note that churches need to work collaboratively and in partnership with other groups in the third sector, in recognition that the public space has been colonised by secular and other faith groups, and we need to be there and take our place at the table.
