Abstract

<em>Public history in Semarang has not been properly utilized to train students' historical thinking skills. This study aims to analyze the potential of public history in Semarang to train students' historical thinking skills. The method used in this research is qualitative with a descriptive approach. The results of the study show that the potential for public history in Semarang, especially the Dutch East Indies colonial remains, can be utilized to learn about the history of colonialism. The potential for public history can be exploited by applying the discovery learning model with the outing class method. This learning model can strengthen students' historical thinking skills and trigger an anti-colonial attitude. In conclusion, public history is a potential that can be used to train students' historical thinking skills</em>.
