Abstract
Loyola University Chicago’s Institute of Environmental Sustainability serves as an excellent example of how to practice what you teach. Housing the classrooms, laboratories, and even dormitories for Loyola students studying environmental issues, the new complex’s buildings feature a highly sustainable design that includes geothermal energy, rainwater collection, natural ventilation, and other aspects of what the university dubs its “green learning community.”
